Like Christmas decorations, the Rosé season starts earlier each year. Frankly, we think the best time to drink pink is in these dog and fog days of August.With this in mind, we worked with our friend Roland Wentzel at Eagle Point Ranch to make a Rosè that would be lively, fresh and aromatic. Eagle Point Ranch is a small, sustainable and certified organic vineyard on the eastern side of Mendocino. It’s iron-rich, rocky soils make for wonderful Rhone grapes.
We hand harvested 3 tons of piquant Grenache, gently pressed it and fermented the juice in neutral oak. This pretty wine has aromas of ripe melon and mineral with similar flavors of honeydew, strawberry and flint. Enjoy with just about anything on your menu or on its own.
